Our New Apartment!
I made it back to Spokane safe and sound! I’m glad to be home with my family after a long time, and I’m sure this will be a fun summer.
While I was busy doing that, Tatsuya was moving into our new apartment! Of course, we’re both really excited about it. It’s a 45 square meter 2LDK in Higashi Funabashi, Chiba. He is enjoying our new neighborhood so far… he says it’s very quiet, but places with more fun and excitement are just a short train ride away.
Even though I can’t be there, he was sure to send me lots of pictures! It looks a little sparse now, but that’s because he wants to wait to buy furniture until I arrive, so we can pick some out together. (I suppose once that happens, we can take some more pictures.) Still, even now it looks pretty cozy to me! It’s been raining all day both here and there and looking at these make me want to curl up with some tea and a snack in my PJ’s.
(LOTS of pictures ahead! You can click for a larger view.)

Our apartment building! Our room is in the lowest right corner

A cafe located next-door. Apparently old people there and sing karaoke… last night was Hawaiian themed! lol!

This is Japan! Gotta take off your shoes before coming in the house!

Another view, facing into the apartment. The door on the left leads into the main area

the wash room off the genkan, with sink, washing machine, and furo (風呂)

Surprise from the Igarashi family! A Jiji-themed toilet room! :D (Kiki’s Delivery Service is my favorite Ghibli movie, how did they know!)

So cute!!! They are the sweetest. Tatsuya says his brother and girlfriend have a white version

It’s empty now, but not for much longer! Can you imagine a dining table there? :)

The youshitsu (洋室). Our room for TV and general chillin’. Poor Tatsuya only has his little table and chair for now!

The view from the inside looking out. Car dealerships and a biiiig grass field! Tatsuya says he can hear the frogs living there at night

The washitsu (和室), for sleeping, etc.

Closet. I only just noticed the design on the closet doors! Pretty!
I can’t wait to see it all for myself and help Tatsuya decorate! :D

Looks awesome! :D I’m glad you guys found an apartment. ^_^
